Kenneth grew up in Athens, Texas and went on to attend Texas A&M University, Kingsville where he earned his undergraduate degree in criminal justice. After graduating from A&M, Kenneth decided to become a lawyer. His decision to pursue a career in law was largely influenced by his father, James Owen, and further fueled by a passion for learning. Kenneth distinctly remembers his father saying during a campaign debate for County Attorney in East Texas: “It does not matter what people think of you, the most important thing is to do what is right. That is what we as lawyers are supposed to do.” His father’s focus on doing what is right had a profound impact on Kenneth’s life goals and belief in the justice system.

Kenneth’s clients prefer working with him because he provides compassionate and detail oriented legal service. His knack for research and his high level of curiosity have led him to learn everything he can about the law and how to protect a client’s claims, rights, and judgments. Kenneth’s early years as a professional athlete and co-manager of a professional baseball team gave him an unusual amount of grit, perseverance, leadership, and determination, which serves him and his clients well as he guides them through the litigation process.

Kenneth’s community involvement includes serving as a member of the Board of Directors for his sister’s nonprofit, working on its mission to equip and empower former foster youth in Latvia to thrive in adulthood. He contributes to and assists on projects to grow her influence for her cause here in the United States. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, reading mountains of early American history, and is currently trying to learn his wife’s native language, Korean.
